Q and A
Check out some of our common questions and answers. Stage Left Audio Productions, LLC is serious about sound quality and service. We hope to see you in the future!
(Jan. 2022) – All of our rates are based on a four (4) hour service and other factors that may be specific to your event. Our base/starting service rate is $400 for a 4 hour event utilizing our small to average size sound system, which includes a 16 channel console. Not all events are the same, therefore, we are unable to provide base pricing for most events, especially larger events. Please contact us for more specific pricing information about your event.
No. We are unable to support equipment riders and backline services. With the availability of various sound reinforcement equipment and instruments for potential customers, it is cost prohibitive to maintain an inventory of equipment to suit the various sound reinforcement needs as well as performer/musician requests.
Most events can take between 3 to 4 hours for a setup, including sound check. Events requiring a larger sound system can take about 6 hours for setup. There are many factors involved with how long it may take us to setup a sound system for your event (i.e. load-in location, indoor/outdoor, stairs, distance between our vehicles and the stage, etc…). For tear down, on average, the time needed to break everything down and load-out is 1/2 the time it takes us to load-in and setup for an event.
** If you are renting a location for your event, please ensure you have factored in enough time for our setup and teardown in your rental agreement with the facility.
We use both. We always ensure our customers that our use of analog or digital for their event will yield the same great results.
No. Our sound system can be scaled to accommodate different size bands, different size crowds, and different venues. If your event (or band) is close in size to a previous event we did of the same size/type, we will probably use the same size sound system. We treat every event individually and will determine what will work best for each event.
Yes. We provide basic stage-wash lighting using PAR-64 LED color changing fixtures on two light trees. For more lighting options (moving heads, etc…) we will recommend some lighting companies we have worked with.
No. Stage Left Audio Productions does not “throw a system together” for an event. We will meet with our customer to determine their needs and to determine if we are the best fit for them. There can be a lot involved with bringing a sound (and lighting) system to an event, no matter the size of the event! This is something that cannot be “thrown together”.
Yes. We provide mixing services for bands (and venues) for their events using their gear (analog or digital).
Our sound systems range in power from a few hundred watts (for smaller events) to around 18,000 watts (for larger events with a crowd around 1200 people). We will work with you to determine what size of sound system would be best for your event.
Stage Left Audio Productions focuses on sound quality (as a priority) over volume level. We will never run the volume of our sound systems to the point of distortion nor to the point of “how loud we can get it”. Stage Left Audio Productions will provide a volume level appropriate for the event and for the guests… while maintaining sound quality. We will work with you to determine if we are the best choice for your event.
Our primary focus for customer events is sound quality. Then, we focus on a good volume level appropriate for the event and type of music. We do not focus on SPL measurements as a determining factor for our services. There are many variables involved with achieving certain decibel level ratings. Many times, when the focus of an audio service is the SPL measurement, the sound quality for the event is most always compromised.
Maybe. For most requests to provide sound at a residence, we have to decline our service. There are various issues with private residence events… some of these issues are, noise regulations, noise complaints, SPL limits, power requirements/limitations. Please contact us to see if we could provide sound at your residence.
Yes. We offer a basic sound system (2 speakers on stands) with vocal mics and instrument mics. Please contact us for more information on this service.
No. Our sound systems are for live sound reinforcement only.
